Earlier this year I turned 30, and now my daughter is nearly three-and-a-half. My heart expands and contract. I notice how my soul is easily ignited by the stillness of simply being at home in my body. When I'm in the luxury of reading a good book, having conversations that inspire change, feeling the levity from real connection. Oftentimes, I’m writing new songs, building community, creating a great recipes, and going for long bike rides; these are some ways that I help restore my nervous system in a lifestyle surrounded by chaos and doubt. There are so many moments this year that I've looked around and been just overwhelmed by the beauty of life. But sometimes it feels like there is no time to appreciate any of it. Can you relate? If so, maybe we can all just learn to relish as long as we can in the moments that matter most to us.
UPCOMING SHOWS
On November 23rd I am backing up 3x Juno Award Winner, Kirk Diamond in his band, The Movement of Ahryel. We are playing at the Rose Theatre in Brampton at 8 PM. Tickets are still available at this link. I was able to share a great conversation with Kirk on the way to our last rehearsal. Listen in on this proud Jamaican artist’s mindset, motivation, and meditation he finds in the music. Also, the message he is carrying forward to future generations and fans alike.
